It also tends to fly when you are running around after 2 little girls. I cannot believe it’s been 3 months since my last post. I am not keeping up my end of the bargain with regular posts. Now that I moved the computer out of the study (where #2 sleeps) I hope to have more time available to blog. Granted, a large computer screen does not look very attractive on my dining table, but I have a home overrun with children’s toys and books, so it really doesn’t look too bad. The look I’m going for isn’t exactly orderly… it’s more “as long as the house is clean I can accept that my life right now is going to consist of toys and books strewn all over my home”. It’s a battle I fight every day, and one thing I am realizing is that seeing homes (esp. online) that are immaculate and organized makes me feel some pressure to replicate the same environment in my home. What ends up happening is I put too much pressure on myself and get frustrated/overwhelmed/angry that I never get to that point of perfection. So lately I have been trying really hard to find a good balance that will fit my lifestyle. The kitchen always has to be clean and orderly for me and the floors are swiffered/vacummed everyday and the living room rug is vacuumed every other day (I have 2 kids and a dog, these have to be done on a regular basis). Anything else really is on an as-needed/ when-I-have-time basis. I’m lucky to have a housekeeper who comes once a week and does the bathrooms, changes the sheets, etc.. Basically all of the things I really really don’t want to do. And to be frank, don’t have the time to do.
That’s enough of that. Back to the reason for my blog… things that I love! Even though I haven’t been blogging much lately doesn’t mean I haven’t been reading and finding new and amazing blogs like crazy. I’m just going to jump right in and share some of the coolest stuff on this World Wide Web of ours.
I love this so much. It can be used for so many things. The woman whose blog it originated from used it to write down quotes from her children that she wanted to remember. I also like the idea of writing down memories throughout the year, and then reading them on New Year’s Eve. I think the quote idea is definitely something I can stick with. (via Inchmark)
I am going to do this. I am. It really is so easy. Canvas + wooden letters + glue + paint. Voila.

Are these not adorable for a birthday? And you can totally personalize them with initials and theme colors…

Do you know what this is? Bottle of Dawn soap + spray paint =
Yup. It’s that easy. And looks pretty good too.
It’s late. Goodnight y’all.
